I am a certified International Mountain Leader with a background in event management. I love connecting with life and the natural world and finding peace in the mountains.
Following my MBA in Communications and Events, I gained experience organizing international events such as The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations, equestrian competitions, World War commemorations, exhibitions, and congresses.
After gaining experience in the event industry, I sought a shift towards more nature-oriented pursuits. To achieve this goal, I co-founded Touring Monkeys in 2019 and simultaneously began working on my Mountain Leader training, which I completed three years later. By 2024, Touring Monkeys had transformed into Monkeys Connect, reflecting our commitment to connecting adventurers worldwide.
I am fluent in English, French, German, and Spanish. My passion for languages drives me to foster global connections at our events.

I love going on road trips. A slideshow of the outdoors that showed me the vast sand dunes of the Middle East are just as incredible as the lush forests of Asia and the beaches of the US Gulf Coast.
The joy and curiosity of children are contagious, making travel and adventures more precious. I support causes that feed and educate children. It's their right to grow and explore freely.
I have a degree in Journalism and Education, and I am now learning the Arabic language and furthering my skills as a writer and online freelancer.
There is a lot to discover in this world and within ourselves. I strive towards both, and then share what I can along the way.
Our guides and partners
At Monkeys Connect, our guides play a crucial role in creating stories and memorable adventures. Their skills and experience ensure a safe and enriching experience on every trip. They ensure a safe and enriching experience on every trip through their skills and experience.
All Monkeys Connect guides are qualified professionals in their respective fields, including mountain guides, mountain leaders, climbing instructors, skiing instructors, yoga teachers and other outdoor specialties.
Their passion for nature, the outdoors, and adventure is the driving force behind our events, as they share their enthusiasm and knowledge with you.
Climbing instructors
I have been climbing since my early childhood, as I have already been out and about in the mountains with my parents. I made a name for myself in the 80s as the developer of a number of new routes in the upper levels of difficulty in the Jura and in the Bernese Oberland. In the alpine area, among other things, I climbed the Eiger North face and was out and about in the Himalayas. As a climbing Guide SBV (Swiss Mountain Guide Association) and J+S sport climbing trainer, I want my joy, enthusiasm and passion for climbing and mountain sports to pass on and open new horizons.
The freedom that climbing provides and the concentration it requires attracted me as soon as I discovered this discipline. Very quickly climbing became a passion for me. The desire to share this discipline led me to start the Swiss Youth+Sport course. In 2018 I decided to start the climbing guide course to obtain the Federal Certificate. Since 2021 I have participated regularly in Monkeys Connect excursions. Sharing my passion for the mountains with motivated groups is always a pleasure.
Left Belgium for the Jura where I found my playground. So happy to be there and to share all my passions! In the middle of the mountain, I like to say that I’m at the office!

Hi, I’m Guy, an outdoor lover born in the heart of the Swiss alps. Mountain guide and ski instructor, I love to spend time climbing, skiing and hanging around in the mountains. I hope to meet you soon and to have a nice experience with you up there!
Native from the French South Alps, I’m a mountain guide and a rescuer. My experience will allow me to guide you around the world in many adventures. Mountaineering, ski touring, rock or ice climbing, only one limit; our imagination. One purpose: Enjoy!
If the mountain is often perceived as a place of the extreme, for me it is above all a place of sharing, observation, discovery and wonder. My atypical professional background has enabled me to acquire a large number of technical and relational tools that will allow me to best support you in your future mountain activities. Gardener, educator and mountain guide are the foundations on which I rely. They have allowed me to live until today magnificent human experiences in the Alps as well as beyond our borders. So I say see you soon and in the meantime let’s enjoy life …
Mountain leaders
Even if I’m not originally from Switzerland but from the French Jura, I’m a real Swiss knife of outdoor activities! After a career in kayak (where I’ve been lucky to compete in the 2004’s Olympic Games), I’ve developed my abilities and have competed at good level in various summer and winter sports such as MTB, x-country skiing, ski mountaineering and trail running, all over the world, getting an amazing amount of experience. I love to explore, travel, discover. As long as I am outside, and especially in the mountains, I’m happy! Since I loved to share these moments, motivate people and teach my knowledge to others, I’ve naturally become a guide in these activities, and my goal is now to convey to you this flame burning for all outdoor activities!
As a child I had the chance of growing up in the mountains of Leysin and spent my time hiking and skiing. After many years of working in the mountain guide office, I decided to turn my passion into my job and to become myself a tour leader. That was the best decision of my life. I will be delighted to let you discover the beauty of the mountain nature and the secrets of the healing flowers. I can transfer my passion in French, German, English and Italian.

With an educational background and work experience in event management, I decided a few years ago to reduce the amount of time spent indoors and dedicate more time to nature by becoming a mountain leader. It has surely been the best decision I’ve made so far. Calling the trails an office and a multiple day trek a business trip generates the most rewarding feeling ever! I love foreign languages, and speak English, French, German and Spanish, so I can help you enjoy our events all over the world.
I am an experienced international mountain leader and all-round outdoor educator. I am also a winter mountaineering and climbing instructor, the highest UK mountaineering qualification and deliver winter/summer CPDs for BAIML trekking guides. After completing 22 years in the British Army, mainly delivering adventure training, I worked as an outdoor trainer in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, France, Germany and the UAE. I still work with the UK military delivering development courses summer and winter. As well as leading treks, I run my own adventure-based company in the foothills of the French Pyrenees: Lesparrou Retreats and Adventures. I live there with my wife Louise, son Jake and two dogs Mir and Storm. I believe there are many beautiful wild places that have lasting memories but it is the people you meet along the way that make them stay in your mind. When not guiding treks, you’ll find me cycling, paddling, skiing, climbing, snowshoeing and listening to music.…loud!
My name is Edouard and I live in the cold mountains of the Jura, at the border between Switzerland and France. I really love to live here, because this place is so wild and preserve, it’s the perfect place to reconnect with the beauty of Nature! About myself, I am a mountain lover who works mainly as ski instructor and mountain leader. I am also ski patrol member and survival teacher. During my free time, I love to be outside, travel to discover some new nice places, and spend good moments with my friends. I will be very happy to teach you how to ski and show you how amazing the Jura is!

Julien has been hiking, mountaineering, skiing and climbing since he was young. After many years in development aid and humanitarian assistance he set up his own business to offer a friendly and flexible trekking service for those who want to spend more time in the wild. Julien’s love of the outdoors is combined with a belief in the health and mental benefits of a good long walk. Julien grew up in Paris and Burgundy before studying Geography and Political Science in Lyon. He then lived and worked across Asia, North America and the Middle East. From his many years in the international NGO and UN world, Julien has developed a very open and worldly view on life which manifests itself in an ability to get on with people form everywhere and anywhere. Julien knows the Alps very well, having spent much of his time there. He is a certified UIMLA International Mountain Leader and a member of both the Swiss and French Mountain Leader Associations. He lives just outside Geneva.
I have been infatuated with mountains since I first experienced them as a young adult, the literal fresh perspective on the world was so far removed from my childhood in rolling SE England. Ever since I have been exploring the wild and woolly places of Britain and Western Europe by many means: hiking, trail running, scrambling, climbing, via ferrata, Alpinism, cycling, skiing and snowshoeing. As I gained in skills and confidence, I began to guide hiking tours and trips for local clubs, and pursued my mountain leader qualification in my spare time whilst working full-time in the charitable sector. I just loved helping folk to realise their own mountain adventures. Finally in 2014, I gave up office work to pursue a dream of working in the outdoors. I gained more qualifications, and worked full-time freelance for 6 years in the UK, guiding hikes and teaching navigation and rock climbing, as well as developing soft skills through outdoor education. I loved seeing people achieve more than they ever thought themselves capable. My biggest love of all is the Alps. My proudest achievement was to gain my International Mountain Leader Award in 2017 and begin guiding Alpine treks professionally. It was then a dream come true when the opportunity came up to move to Switzerland in 2020. Since 2017 I’ve guided on the Tour du Mont Blanc, the Walkers’ Haute Route, the Swiss Via Alpina, and snowshoeing day hikes. I’ve also been enjoying volunteering with Swiss environmental charity Pro Natura, helping maintain habitats and protect endangered amphibians. I’m fascinated by all things Swiss, I’m always exploring and researching, and I’m now a certified Swiss Travel Expert. I love to share my knowledge with those curious to know our mountains more deeply. But mainly I just want to help folk access the mountains, because I believe that simply hiking and immersing ourselves deeply in the natural landscape can have a powerful effect on our physical and mental well-being.
Since childhood I have always enjoyed being outside and active; climbing trees and jumping ditches. As a graduate in Environmental Sciences, my passion for the mountains was incorporated into my degree dissertation on footpath erosion on the Cuillins of Skye, where I lived in a mountain bothy with 2 geologists for 3 months while exploring this stunning mountain range. I was a ski racer throughout my childhood and teenage years in Vancouver, Canada, competing nationally and representing Serbia. I spent a year in FIS racing before transitioning to coaching young racers aged 7-12. Eventually, I left Canada for Switzerland, where I became a ski instructor at Flumserberg and started getting into ski touring. Off the slopes, I’m now a full-time student, pursuing my Master’s in biology at the University of Zurich.

Yoga teachers
I created the Céona Yoga activity with the intention of bringing a yoga adapted and corresponding to the needs and increasing demands of a public in research of resourcing and relaxing activities, for a resolutely different practice. More gentle, without being boring, the yoga I teach gets you moving without exhausting yourself, awakens and tones up the body and mind without unnecessary over-stimulation, and all this without pain. My precept: “Staying healthy is also a question of balance”.
Hi, I’m Giada, a passionate world traveler, outdoor lover and team LIVE LIFE NOW! I was born in Italy, grew up in different countries across Europe, North & South America, and always wondered where i’d end up eventually. Well, the answer is Switzerland – the alpine state – where I started a serious love affair with Mother Nature and opened my eyes to breathtaking and inspiring views that unravel deeper meaning in my Life. Hike after hike, adventure after adventure, I discovered the most beautiful corners of this country, its mountains, the people, I learned about the culture, I went mountaineering, I took all my friends with me, I slept in mountain huts, I skied in fresh powder snow and I never passed up an opportunity for an adventure. Along the way, I took my Yoga practice always with me and it’s evolved into something more than traditional yoga, it’s become Yogalpina – what I like to think of as elevating the practice to new heights by combining it with different mountaineering activities: hiking, climbing, snowshoeing, skiing… the combination of active outdoor adventure and cultivated inner peace made me realize that this is the key to live in the present. It’s my passion and my privilege to share this with others.
I am Steffi Fiedler, born in 1994 in beautiful Augsburg, certified yoga teacher and M.A. in Journalism. I had my first experiences with Yoga in 2017 – and I was immediately overwhelmed. The positive effect on body and mind is simply indescribable and I could quickly see an incredible amount of change and progress. I became a certified yoga teacher [RYT] in 2020, after attending numerous courses and retreats and finally completing my 200 hours of Teacher Training in Vietnam. I am trained in Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa yoga, as well as Yoga Nidra. I teach these styles either individually or in combination with each other. Always adapted to the level of the group and in combination with meditation and proper breathing. I have specialized in holistic Yoga Retreats as I am sure: This is the best for your body and your mind and always an incredible shared experience for everyone. Bushcraft specialists
I was born and raised in Geneva, where I spent most of my time in the wilderness with my parents. That’s where the love for nature and hunter gatherer’s way of life grew. Growing up, I met people who taught me the skills in order to live in the wilderness and they gave me the opportunity to go for a trip in the Yukon territories, Canada where I was able to witness the real bound between humans and Nature. Nowadays it’s important for me to share with oder people what I learned and still learn from the land and my friends.
My name is Mathieu Frommel, I was born and raised in Geneva. Since I’m little child, I’m really passionate about animals and nature. I spent most of my holidays in the small family chalet that is situated in the alps of Wallis where I learned many different things about the wildlife and the forest that surrounded the place. Later, as I graduated my apprenticeship as a “wild animals specialist”, I began practicing some bushcraft skills, hunter & gatherer way of life and experimental archeology. Today, I divide my time between Switzerland, Norway and Canada where I share and experiment my knowledges.

Left Belgium for the Jura where I found my playground. So happy to be there and to share all my passions! In the middle of the mountain, I like to say that I’m at the office!

About myself, I am a mountain lover who works mainly as ski instructor and mountain leader. I am also ski patrol member and survival teacher. During my free time, I love to be outside, travel to discover some new nice places, and spend good moments with my friends.
